You are required to provide the birth date for all your players.   Teams discovered to have a player that is too old for their age group or are Club players will be disqualified from further competition.  Previous games played by a disqualified team will be recorded as a 2-0 win for the opposing team, regardless of the initial result.

Registration, Team Roster and Tournament Check In
1.  If I don’t have all my players set for my team, should I still apply for the tournament?
Yes, we recommend that you sign your team up as soon as possible we will not have room for all teams that apply because of field and scheduling restrictions.  Once you have applied for the first time you can go back to your application to make changes or add your roster by clicking here. The first  time you return to your application to make changes, you will have to have your team number and pin sent to you.

2.  How late can I make changes to the player roster?

Teams can make changes to their player roster until the Team Check-in on the Thursday before the tournament.   Emergency changes can be made at the field before the first game.

3.  What is the process for checking in teams?

Your team will need to check-in two times as indicated below:

The first mandatory team check-in for all teams will take place the Thursday night before your team plays.  The U8 check-in will be on December 4th and the U10 Check-in will be on December 11th.  The check-in will take place at Nansen Field from 5:30PM–7:30PM.  It does not have to be the coach that checks the team in.  At check-in your team will need to do the following:

- Provide completed and signed Player registration forms for all players - available for download here.

- Confirm birth dates for all players - we will need to verify that your players are the appropriate age.

- Verify names and shirt numbers of all players on game card.

- Remember - no Club players are allowed to participate in this tournament.  If you have one on your roster, please let us know at check-in so they can be removed from your roster.

The second mandatory check-in will take place at the field a half hour before your first game.  A representative from your team needs to come to the headquarters tent to verify that your team is present and pick up your game card.  You don’t need all your players at this check-in, only a team representative.  You will be given your team’s game card when you check in at the field.  At the end of each game the referee will return your game card to the score keeper. It is your team’s responsibility to retrieve the game card before the start of their next game.

Fields and Equipment

1.  Do we need uniforms?

T-shirts, uniforms or pinnies are fine, but they must be numbered and players must wear the numbers indicated on the team roster.  Goalkeepers should have a different color to wear - a scrimmage vest over the uniform or shirt is fine.

2.  Where will the games be played?

All the games will be played at Nansen Field located at 15 Hidden Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274.  A map and directions to the field are available here.

Coaches should be sure to inform their player’s parents that parking is very limited at Nansen Field.  We highly recommend that your players car pool or have someone drop them off at the field and be prepared to park some distance from the field.  Please be aware that local police will ticket cars that are parked illegally or are blocking any of our neighbor’s driveways.  Please be sure to tell parents to read all the street signs and comply with requests of the volunteers that will be helping to manage the traffic and parking situation.

3.  What size are the fields and goals?

Field size will be approximately 40 yrds x 30 yrds.  Goals are U8 sized goals (approximately 5’ x 8’).

4.  What size balls will be used?

Size 4 balls will be use for both U8 and U10 age groups.  The tournament can supply the balls for the games.

Schedules

1.  When will the game schedules be posted?

We hope to have the schedules posted on the website a week before the games are to be played, but there is a chance that the schedule will not be posted until the Wednesday before.

2.  How long will the games be?

Games will consist of two (2) - ten (10) minute halves with a five (5) minute half-time.  There will be a break of at least a 10 minute break between the end of one game and the start of the next. For example if a game starts at 7:30AM, it will be done by 7:55AM which includes 5 minutes for ½ time. The next game starts at 8:05AM.

3.   What time will the games start and when can it will my players be done?

The game schedules will depend on how many teams sign up for the tournament in your age group.  However, based on the schedules that we have had the last couple years, your first game could be as early as 7:30AM or 8:00AM.  Most team will have finished pool play by 12:00 noon or earlier.  If your team does not advance out of it's pool, your players are done for the day.  If your team is able to advance out of pool play, they will continue to play until eliminated.  In the past, the Championship games were generally finished by about 3:00PM.

4.  Do my players have to remain at the field between games?

Your team does not have to stay at the field between games, however you need to be sure that they are back in time for your next game, we will not be able to delay any games because players are missing.  All the games for your age group will be played on the one day.  We will have a snack stand at the field for families to purchase food throughout the day.  We will also have some kind of entertainment for players and their siblings to keep them occupied while waiting for their next games.

5.  Can you provide any other general information about the schedules?

In the event we have the maximum number of team, it may be  necessary to start our games at 7:30AM.  There is a chance that some teams may have schedules with back to back games.  Since the games are so short, we believe that this should not be an issue.  You should get a significant break from your other game.

GAME DAY
1.  What can teams expect in relation to parking?
Parking is very limited at Nansen Field.  We highly recommend that your players car pool or have someone drop them off at the field and be prepared to park some distance from the field.  Please be aware that local police will ticket cars that are parked illegally or are blocking any of our neighbor's driveways.  Please be sure to tell parents to read all the street signs and comply with requests of the volunteers that will be helping to manage the traffic and parking situation.
2.  What should teams do when they arrive at the field the day of the tournament?
A representative from your team needs to come to the headquarters tent a half hour before your first game to verify that your team is present and pick up your game card.  You don’t need all your players at this check-in, only a team representative.  You will be given your team’s game card when you check in at the field.  At the end of each game the referee will return your game card to the score keeper. It is your team’s responsibility to retrieve the game card before the start of their next game.

4.   Will there be any food at the field for players and their families or other activities for families?
There will be a snack stand at the field throughout the day that is also a fundraiser for some of our older FRAM CQ teams.  We also plan to have some king of entertainment available for players in between games and their siblings as well as FRAM CQ Apparel available to purchase.   Please tell your players families to bring cash and checkbooks.

RAIN CONTINGENCIES

1.  What happens in the case of rain?

Although we are fortunate to live in a mild climate, there is always the chance of rain in December.  Rain during the week before the tournament or the day of the games can make the field unsafe for play.  In fact the last two years of the tournament it was necessary to reschedule games due to rain.  Although it is the intention of FRAM CQ to have all the games for an age group played on one day at Nansen Field, teams need to be aware that due to weather or field and scheduling conditions, it may be necessary to move some games to an alternate field or to move games to another day.  Back up rain dates will be posted soon.

2.  How will teams be notified if there are any changes due to the weather or field conditions?

If there has been rain during the week before the tournament or rain is forecast the day of the tournament, teams should check the tournament website to confirm that there have been no changes to the schedule.  If you don’t see a notice of any change, you can assume that the games will go on as scheduled.  Of course, the tournament has the right to cancel games during the day in the event weather or field conditions dictate.  Every attempt will be made to send an email as well to notify teams of any changes.
