Carmen was a four year starter and letter winner at Duke University, a NCAA Division 1 Program. While at Duke, Carmen was named the Soccer America Team of the week while her team consistently was ranked in the top 10 and advancing to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16. In addition to honors on the field, Carmen was named the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III team, All-ACC Academic Women’s Soccer Team, NCSAA/ADIDAS South Regional Scholar Athlete All American, and the ACC Academic Honor Roll for four years.
Prior to her college experience, Carmen played on the U-16 and U-17 National teams while representing the teams as Captain. Growing up in the St. Louis area, Carmen played for Busch Soccer Club and was named Female player of the year in 2000.
Currently Carmen plays of Ajax America Women’s team which is associated with FRAM. Extending her playing career beyond college, continuing to grow as a player and person has been very important to her. These life lessons that she has learned both through her playing experience and work ethic are skills she strives to instill her own players. Enjoying the game is of the upmost importance while teaching the kids life lessons as well.
