Tanya grew up in Palm Springs, Ca. She attended Palm Springs High School where she played all four years on Varsity.  While at Palm Springs, Tanya helped her team to four consecutive league title championships. Throughout her soccer career at Palm Springs, Tanya earned Best Offensive Player all four years leading her team with goals. Also, Tanya set records for goals scored in a game (6), goals scored in a season (48), and goals scored in her overall soccer career (146). During her career at Palm Springs, Tanya received many awards, but in her senior year she was awarded Desert Valley Most Valuable Player and CIF Second Team.
 
Alongside playing high school soccer, Tanya traveled out of town to play competitive club soccer. She played one year with the Redlands Los Gauchos and four years with Riverside United. While playing on Riverside United, Tanya contributed to the team’s success as State Cup Champions and Coast Gold Champions.
 
After she graduated high school, Tanya received a soccer scholarship to attend CSU Dominguez Hills. While at Dominguez, she led her team in points during her 2000 and 2004 seasons with goals and assists. In 2001 and 2002, Tanya finished both seasons ranked second with season points. Overall, Tanya finished her CSU Dominguez career with 88 points, 36 goals and 13 assists, and finished 5th on the All-time Points for CSU Dominguez Hills. She helped Dominguez compete in the CCAA tournaments 2001, 2002, 2003 and NCAA II Far West Regional Championship game in 2003.  Tanya earned 2nd team All League in 2000 and 2002, 1st Team CCAA, and All-West Region 2nd team in 2001, and 2003 All-West Region 1st Team,
 
Tanya began her coaching career during CSU Dominguez in 2001. She coached JV for three years at South Torrance High School, and then moved to Varsity for two years. She ended her high school coaching career in 2007. Although, Tanya does not currently have a high school soccer team, she has continued to coach at South Torrance High School running the summer program for the past three summers.
 
After finishing her education at CSU Dominguez and receiving her BA in Liberal Studies, Tanya furthered her education by attending Chapman University for two years. At Chapman she earned her teaching Credential and Masters in Teaching.
 
Besides coaching for FRAM, Tanya began her profession as a second grade school teacher in 2007. She currently works at Juan de Anza Elementary school in the Wiseburn School District located in the city of Hawthorne.
