FRAM GU14 White Advances in League Cup

For the second year in a row the team advanced out of the bronze pool to compete in the second round of League Cup.  In game one a terrific free kick sailed into the right panel of the goal giving the girls the match against the Palmdale Thunder.  A great defensive game against Chelsea SC resulted in a 0-0 draw, but it was enough to propel the girls into round two!  Matched against two strong silver teams, the girls had their work cut out for them the following weekend but they rose to the occasion!  In game one, they fell 0-1 to a first place silver team, Santa Barbara Soccer  Club, but the results could have very easilly been a 2-1 win as early in the match Fram got loose on the right side and sent a bullet bouncing off the right post.  Several minutes later a missile was fired from outside the eighteen that crashed into the crossbar. Sometimes the soccer gods just won’t give you a break!  Terrific defending, courageous goalkeeping and a strong showing by the midfield made this game competitive to the end as the girls continued to push the ball forward and create opportunities until the final whistle blew.   In game two, the girls fell 0-2 against Eclipse Blue.
