Recruiting/Tryouts

Thank you for your interest in the Fram CQ GU-13 team. During the 2008/2009 season we are fielding two GU-13 teams (Bronze and Silver). The Silver team is coached by Cami Boswell, and placed second in the CSL Silver West Division in 2008. We are hopeful that our performance will result in the team’s promotion to Silver Elite in 2009. The Silver team is committed to achieve elevation each season, and as a result the time commitment increases each year -- more tournaments, traveling, work outs, and costs. We are always open to evaluating prospective players, and are looking to add 2-3 girls during the 2008/2009 winter/spring season.  Our goal is to keep the roster between 14-17 players. We prefer to have new players work out with us a number of times to get a thorough assessment of their abilities, and it provides an opportunity for the player and parents to get comfortable with our team.  We not only seek talented players, but focus on team chemistry and personality fit.  Therefore, we would like the player to commit to participate in multiple workouts.  To give you a little info about our team, you will find that the parents are a great group, and while we vary in our level of intensity on the sideline, we have similar goals for the team.  There are very little politics for a club sport, and no favoritism, and as a result you will find the families and, more importantly, the girls all get along. Team chemistry is important to our coaches and our families, given the amount of time we spend together. Under our Fram player/parent agreement, everyone on our fall season roster is guaranteed a roster spot through the February tournaments.  After every season, we move some players from the Silver team and offer them a spot with the Bronze team.   Any girls added to our roster will become full-time Fram team members, and will be guaranteed a roster spot through February.   We may also invite a few girls to play with us in the winter tournaments as guests, all with the goal of recruiting and improving.    Tryouts of girls will continue through winter and spring, with preliminary rosters submitted in May. Our plan is to play an 8-10 game spring schedule, followed by Spring Cup in May, than take a 6-8 week break and resume playing in early July 2009.  No one is guaranteed a spot for 2009/2010 until our final CSL roster is submitted, and changes and additions may occur up until the roster freeze date of 7/31/09.  However, it is our goal to have a very good sense of the roster by spring, with any late changes consisting of filling open slots, our mutually agreed upon transfers between Fram teams.
