The FRAM GU11 White girls soccer team won the championship at the inaugural Newport Mesa Cup tournament on May 30th. The team was undefeated throughout the tourney, scoring eight goals while giving up only two goals to all opponents. The team is coached by Renee Scachetti and managed by Lisa Engel. The team is: (in the front row from left to right) Hailey Kim, Joselyn Chu, Alice Chae, Alyssa Heisen, Caitlyn Stoner, (middle row) Angela Yee, Melissa Hoey, Nicole Michell, Sydney Engel, Sarah Roan, Grace McKenna, Lauren Rios, (back row) Quinn Guterman, Kiersten Hazard, Maddi Villela and Coach Renee.
In addition, they were finalist at the recent Spring Cup tournament in San Bernardino on May 16th. The team was undefeated in tournament pool play, advancing to the final on penalty kicks in the semifinal match.
The team will be competing in the U12 Bronze West division of the Coast Soccer League during the fall season.
