FRAM CQ Soccer Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Richard Boon as the new Director of Coaching and Player Development. Boon is a highly qualified coach and coach instructor who holds the USSF National Youth License, USSF National A License as well as the UEFA License. Boon brings to FRAM CQ a wealth of experience and a winning pedigree.
Richard Boon has been a major part of the successful Cal-South program for the past 16 years. Some of the positions held at Cal-South over the years include: Cal-South ODP age group Head Coach, Head Coaching Coordinator for Orange County District, Cal-South Technical Committee Member and ODP Camp Director. Additionally, Boon has also served on the USYSA Regional IV staff over a 15 year period.
Over the years the teams Richard has coached have won been Champions of a number of major tournaments and leagues. His teams have won the Coast Soccer League’s Premier title twice, the Gold title five times, the California National Cup and USYSA Region IV Championship. His teams have also won Championships at Surf Cup, NHB, Adidas International, Arsenal, NOMADS and the Far West Regional League.
Other achievements include being named 1998 Girls Coach of the Year, 1999 Program Director of the Year and 2000 Team of the Year (Blast Girls) by Goal International Magazine.
The Board at FRAM CQ is certain that Richard will use his expertise and experience to make improvements and changes at FRAM CQ Soccer club that will benefit both our players and coaches. Richard is taking over the position of Director of Coaching and Player Development from Erick Miseroy (Mizzy) who recently stepped down from the position in order to devote more time to his teaching career and family. Mizzy will remain with the club as a coach and Director of Goalkeeping.
Richard Boon’s goal is to make FRAM CQ one of the most competitive boys and girls programs in Southern California.
