We will be holding a College Workshop session on Monday, May 20th. This workshop is designed for both the players and parents of this Fall’s U14 - U17 teams & players. Players will be working with Jennifer Skumawitz, a high school counselor, discussing course selection, eligibility, and using the Naviance platform. Players must bring a smartphone, ipod touch, ipad, or laptop to the meeting with the counselor as they will be going online and starting their college search.
Additionally, we will have Adam Skumawitz, a graduate of Cornell University and current Certified College Funding Specialist speak to parents on the FAFSA, College Admissions and college funding planning and strategy.
There will be no sales or marketing at this workshop. It is a part of the Club’s efforts to assist our players and their families as they prepare for the path to college soccer, or even college without soccer. It is our goal to help with the planning for college and to help the families and Student/Athlete keep on track at about what they should be considering during their Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior years in high school. This workshops is part of your membership with FRAM. We are bringing in experts to provide necessary and critical information for parents and players regarding the college process and many of the financial issues related to college. This presentation is very informative and attendance is encouraged.
You can download an excel document
here which will need to be completed and returned to Karen Campbell by Thursday, May 16th. By completing this form each player will be given account access to Naviance, the career and college search engine provided to our FRAM players at the college night.
